Veteran Pre 1919
Veteran car trimming using the original techniques is sadly a declining industry. D. Strange & Son are proud to offer the specialist knowledge of deep buttoning using horse hair (not foam!), wool cloth and Bedford cord interiors including pasting and broad lace. As well as the reproduction of spring cages and leather hoods which are true to the time period.
Vintage 1920 - 1940

From seats to door panels and headliners, we re-trim your car’s entire interior using the finest materials and craftsmanship. Whether you need a period-correct interior or something entirely bespoke, we create custom interiors tailored to your vision.
Tailor Made Hoods

Carpets
At D. Strange & Son, we specialize in replacing classic car carpets with custom-made, one-off solutions that match the style and era of your vehicle. Using only the finest materials, we offer a range of carpet options from Wilton carpets to rubber backed carpet bound with leather or vinyl.
Weather Equipment
Protect your classic car from the elements with our custom weather equipment. We craft tonneau covers, side screens, and hood bags for veteran, vintage and classic cars. We use mohair, vinyl or patent leather dependent on the projects requirement.
Deep buttoning
We excel in deep buttoning, a traditional upholstery technique using high-quality leather and natural horsehair—not foam. This way of working is a dying art which completes the restoration of your Veteran car to the standard it deserves.
